It is my Great - Grandfather's brother. I know that he served in the British Navy beginning in 1914 but i don't know what happened after that. He may have moved to another state. I know many of them went their own direction. My Great-Grandfather came to Michigan. I have more information on this line if you find it to be the same as yours.

    3. Searching for information on Gum's of Virginia/West Virginia. Specifically children of Timothy Gum and Martha Underwood. Timothy is a descendant of Roger Gum and Martha is a descendant of Elisha Underwood. I know they had a least three children; Izerlyn, Sarah, and Michael. Izerlyn married Isreal D. Sutton, son of George J. Sutton and Eleanor Davis, all of whom were in Doddridge Co., West Virginia in 1880. It appears Gum's came out of Bath Co., Virginia, however. I suspect that this Charlie Sutton's father was James Sutton and mother Elizabeth Sutton but I'm not positive. Their son, spelled Charley Sutton was married to an unknown spouse and they had a child, Clayton R Sutton b: 16 Sep 1912 d: 6 Jun 1941 in Bell Co. KY. But there were so many around Lee Co. VA, Claiborne Co. TN and Bell Co. KY that it could have been one of a number. That's my problem and I'm hoping with Robert being a Rev that someone will know who his parents are. Tks

I have notes on the founding of Maysfield, Ky,founded after Daniel Boone and a Sutton, among others,petitioned the House of Burgess,(the Virginia legislature to create a county seat, as so many people (apparently a required number)_ lived there at that time..
