I am sorry to say I don't know anything about your Samuel Sutton, but maybe we have a connection between your Samuel and my William Sutton. My ggg-grandfather, William Sutton married Louisa Chandler on Feb. 10, 1858 in Martin Co., Indiana. They had 3 children: Robert Walter, Frances Elizabeth, and Violet A. William died of illness during his service in the Civil War. I do not know anything about William's parents or other family members. I have been desperately seeking any info on his family for the last 2 years without success. I would love to hear from you. Angela (Sutton) Tielking tielking@knightstown.net

Transcribed & Donated by: MistiDN@aol.com ************************************************************************ Abstracted from Henderson Evening Journal, April 7, 1926 Mr. James Tillman Sutton, former patrolman, died at 9am this morning after being hospitalized for 2 days following an automobile accident. His Ford touring car overturned, killing W.H.Cabell and fracturing Mr. Sutton's skull in several places. Mr. Cabell died at the scene and his services were to start one hour after Mr. Suttons death. John O. Sutton, the foster father, recounted the details of his adopting Mr. Sutton. He was born James Tillman Pitcock near Reed Ky. His father was a poor man with a large family and his mother had abandoned the family shortly after the James' birth. When the father died, a neighbor by the name of Gilcrease took over the care of the baby. Mr. John O. Sutton of Corydon heard of the story and asked to adopt the boy. Judge John F. Lockett granted the adopted when the child was barely two. James T. Sutton lived with his father until he married Miss Bertha Smith. They had 4 children: Lucile, James T. Jr, Carl Edward and Raymond Earl. The body was removed by the Klee-Morton ambulance service to his home on Loeb street. Funeral services to be held at the Audubon Baptist Church on April 8 1926. Internment was at the Corydon Cemetery.
