Nicholas Rome Barber Sutton is my g-g-grandfather. His son Almond Jesse Sutton is from his marriage to Elizabeth Donica. His marriage to Elizabeth Doke produced three sons, David, Moses and George. I think he may have had a daughter by his third wife, Phebe Josephine Spencer. He lived in Boones Co, Mo ( found him the 1870 census, and in Benton Co, AK, in 1880 with Josephine. My cousin in OK is going to Benton Co, AK to see if she can find his death or burial place. He owned property in AK. She was a member of LaGrange United Methodist Church where she was active in the Methodist Women and previously served on the Administrative Board. Funeral services were Saturday afternoon at Hillcrest Mortuary in Medford and interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park's Crown Point Garden, Medford. Mrs. Walker was born Jan 2, 1918, in Thornton, Idaho, a daughter of Roy and Eunice Sutton. On Sept. 8, 1935, she married Kenneth Walker in Burns. He died in 1992, after some 57 years of marriage. Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and worked in the Portland shipyards during World War II. She had lived in Medford for 40 years before moving to Hillsboro about 10 years ago to live with a daughter. Mrs. Walker enjoyed fishing, painting and family activities. She was known as a good cook. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Walker: Medford: a daughter, Darla Rowe, Hillsboro; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Madge Heman.
