I think the Rhoda Sutton that married John Watts is not the same as the Rhoda Sutton that Married Jeremiah Wilson abt 1781 . Jeremiah died in 1834 or 1846 in Woodford Co. KY. Back on Jan 31/99 you posted a message on RootsWeb about Stephen Potter & Jemima Clarissa Bryant, my great-grandparents. I am the granddaughter of their daughter Ethel Mathilda. Do you have any further info? Are we related? Cheers, Diane Potter Marcotte Here's what you posted: Stephen SUTTON and Jemima C. BRYANT were born and married near SALISBURY, WILTSHIRE, ENGLAND. Their children: Alice, Emily, Ethel, Alfred and Will. Alfred SUTTON married Kate POTTER, in 1907, Hampshire, England and emigrated to Montreal, Quebec, CANADA that same year. Ethel SUTTON married Kate's brother Will POTTER and they also emigrated to Montreal in 1907. Alfred's sisters believed to have emigrated to Baltimore about the same time. Do either of you know where these Suttons died? My ggggrandfather was James Sutton, who lived in Indiana, Pa from 1812 - 1970. I have read that his ancestors were Daniel -> Zebulon -> Peter -> Thomas. The early ancestors lived in NJ but Peter was one of the founders of Indiana. Haven't verified any of this yet. Does this sound like it could be your family? Dwight Sutton --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail is new and improved - Check it out!

Hi list members, Am re-sending my SUTTON line in hopes that someone is researching the same family. My great great grandmother Mary Ann SUTTON was born May 29, 1832, in Indiana (not sure where but more than likely Dearborn County) She was the daughter of Joshua SUTTON (b. June 05, 1801 in PA) and Sarah WELLS (b. December 15, 1806 in Corinth Township, Orange County, VT, daughter of Jacob C. WELLS Jr. & Sarah {Sally} RUTTER who were married in Switzerland County, IN, June 05, 1828) Mary Ann SUTTON married Benjamin BODINE, October 18, 1853 in Ohio County, Indiana. This was her second marriage - her first brief marriage was to Davis MCINTYRE which took place on May 29, 1851. There were no children from the first marriage. Mary Ann and Benjamin BODINE had one son (he had children by other marriages) George Emerson BODINE, born July 28, 1863 in Dearborn County Indiana. Mary Ann Sutton BODINE died February 22, 1867 - probably in Dearborn county. I am still trying to find her grave or record of her death - other than the family bible record. Her grandfather was John C. Sutton b. abt 1872 - name of wife I don't know - but he had quite a few children: Joshua Sutton b. June 05, 1801 in PA (Mary Ann's father) John D Sutton b. abt 1805 Joseph Sutton b. abt 1807 Daniel Sutton b. abt 1808 Charles Sutton b. abt 1810 Lucy Ann Sutton b. abt 1812 Catherine Sutton b. abt 1814 I have been told by other Sutton researchers that the trail dead ends at John C Sutton who migrated from PA to Indiana. I hope that some new leads have appeared which is why I am re-posting. Look forward to hearing from anyone who can add to this sparse bit of information. Denise
