Funeral services will take place Friday, July 30, 2004 at 2:00pm at The Sabine Tabernacle Church in Beaumont. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville, TX. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm 8:00 pm Thursday, July 29, 2004 at the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. A native of Rockland, TX she was the oldest of six children. As the oldest child, she had a strong desire for the well being of her younger siblings and contributed throughout her life to seeing that any of their needs were met. She had lived in Beaumont for over 50 years. During her life she had worked as a beautician in her own beauty shop, in the credit department for Sears and Roebuck department store and as a homemaker. She was a faithful and devoted member of The Sabine Tabernacle for over 50 years where she taught Mrs. Hodges's Sunday School class for 22 of those years, along with helping in many aspects of church life. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Sutton Sr., and is survived by one son: Robert W. Sutton Jr and wife Brenda of Beaumont, two grandchildren, Robert W Sutton III and Amy E. Sutton both of Beaumont,: Two brothers: Jack B. Worthy and wife Kathryn, F.D."Dick" Worthy and wife Theolyn.; Three sisters: Aliece Monk, Jean Baxter and husband Jack, and Paula Hilton and husband Rev.     3. Published in the Corvallis, OR - Gazette Times 25 Aug 2004 Longtime Bellfountain resident William "Bill" Sutton died Sunday at his home in Philomath of complications from brain cancer. He was 64 years old. He was born in Red Bluff, Calif., to Clarence and Mary Sutton. He was the second of their six children. He joined the Marine Corps at the age of 19. He met DeAnne Stamps at the Oregon State Fair in 1960 while on leave. They married in March 1962 and moved to Tustin, Calif., where he finished his tour of duty. They returned to the Willamette Valley, where Bill began a career as a saw filer. He started at Larson Lumber Company in Philomath and then worked at Bohemia Lumber Company in Cottage Grove and IP Miller in Bellfountain. He retired after 20 years at Mary's River Lumber in Philomath. He was well-respected for his efforts to stay on the cutting edge of saw-filling technology. Bill and DeAnne raised their four children and two nephews in the Bellfountain community. After Bill's retirement, they enjoyed traveling to Mexico with his mother, visiting their friends, the O'Mealy's, in Florida, and touring Canada. Bill enjoyed the challenge of traveling across the United States and always finding a free place to spend the night. Between trips, Bill and DeAnne maintained a vacation home at Crescent Lake with his brother, Joe and sister-in-law, Diane, where they enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling. Bill was an enthusiast of western and John Wayne movies. He was an avid reader of Louis L'Amour and W.E.B. Griffin and especially enjoyed Griffin's series, "The Corps." He was also a knowledgeable history buff. Bill fought a courageous year-long battle with brain cancer. He was supported by his wife, DeAnne; daughters, Debbie, Donna and Dena; son, Willie; nephew, Lee; and his beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother and five siblings. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at his home, 23670 Woods Creek Road in Philomath. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Brain Tumor Society or the Walker Rim Riders Snowmobile Club. Born Jan. 13, 1910, in Janesville, Wis., she was the daughter of Edward C. and Ada E. Sutton Thorn. On Oct. 7, 1946, she married Andrew H. Holtkamp in Fort Madison. He died Feb. 2, 1972. Mrs. Holtkamp farmed with her husband before moving to Fort Madison, where she worked at Place Co. and then Lampe Drug. She was a member of SS. Mary & Joseph Church, Daughters of Isabella and the Catholic Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.     3. Published in the Greenville, SC - News August 24, 2004 Sunny Sutton Greenville Sunny Sutton, 71, husband of Jean Adel Miller Sutton, of 1171 Lakeview Drive, died Aug. 21, 2004. Born in San Antonio, Texas, he was the son of the late Sadie Marie Goins. Mr. Sutton, a graduate of Zonn Polygraph Institute, served his community for many years as a police officer with the Greenville Police Department, a criminal investigator for the 13th Judicial Circuit, and was an investigator for the Department of Insurance. He had owned and operated Sunny Sutton International Investigative Service since 1968. He was a licensed private investigator, licensed polygraph examiner, and a forensic behavioral analyst. He was a certified instructor for law enforcement by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. He enlisted in the Air Force at the age of fifteen and served on active duty for nine years. He served in the Korean War, spent 4-l/2 years in Japan as a military interpreter, and was a member of the first Combat Control Team. He was a parachutist and diver in the Air Force, and was a recipient of the Soldier's Medal. He was currently a Major in the South Carolina State Guard. He was a member of VUMS (Veterans of Underage Military Service), was a lifetime member of the Combat Control Association, and was a member of the American Polygraph Association. He held a black belt in Judo and Tae Kwon Do, and owned and operated the first Tae Kwon Do school in South Carolina. Mr. Sutton was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his sister, Mary Howie, of Kemp, Texas; a stepson, Jacob Hughes, of Taylors; a stepdaughter, Katherine Reed, and her husband, Adam, of Darby, Mont.; and a grandchild, Cooper Sutton Reed, of Darby, Mont. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jan Sutton. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Susan Crowell and the Rev. Shannon Mullen officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, following the service at the church. Phyllis was born Aug. 26, 1922, in Red Cloud, to Roy and Marie (Wolfe) Sutton. She was raised in the Inavale area and graduated from Red Cloud High School. She attended Hastings College for two years and then taught in rural schools near Red Cloud. On Aug. 26,1941, she married William Crary. They moved to Minden in 1946 and raised their family. She enjoyed artwork, gardening and animals. Survivors include daughters, Cecelia Allen of Omaha, Kylie Crary of Lincoln and Julie Bowden and husband, Bonner, of Kearney; son, Phil Crary and wife, Karen of Omaha; grandchildren, Karen Kessler, Casey Crary and Max Crary; and great grandchildren, Stephen Kessler and Nolan Kessler. Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 30 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens with burial in Highland Memory Gardens. Mr. Sutton was born in Forty Fort, PA and was the owner of Hoermann Press School Supply Company before retiring in 1981. He was a member of East Gate Masonic Lodge, Highland Park Christian Church, North High School Alumni Association (1938 graduate) and Johnny Johnson Sports Club. Guy sold Library books throughout the state of Iowa. He was official greeter at the Old School House at the Iowa State Fair from 1972 to 2000. He was known as "Mr. Guy" to thousands of children. He spent most of his life in Des Moines and was a volunteer at the Des Moines Community Playhouse. He is survived by his son, Steve Sutton of Perry; two granddaughters, Samantha Rush of Des Moines and Amy Denton of Des Moines; brother, Arthur Sutton of Storm Lake; his life-long friend, Jean Olmstead of Indianola; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Foster J. Sutton and his parents, Bea and Pappy Sutton. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens.
