    1. Sutton DNA Tests
    2. I need help in solving a DNA puzzle. I can trace my lineage to a James Sutton born about 1747 in NC, lived in GA and perhaps SC and died 1835 in TN. I had my DNA tested and it came back with a very surprising result. I do not match any other Sutton’s that have been tested, except my brother, and belong to Haplogroup E3b which is believed to have evolved in the Middle East. It expanded into the Mediterranean during the Pleistocene Neolithic expansion. It is currently distributed around the Mediterranean, southern Europe, and in north and east Africa. I am looking for other Sutton descendants willing to be tested to see if we can solve this puzzle. We have established a new Sutton DNA Group for this purpose. Joni Hudson is the administrator. The cost for a 12 marker test is $99. Just go to: _http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.asp?code=Z47413&special=true_ (http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.asp?code=Z47413&special=true) First, click on the website and look around. Read the background and click on Y Results to see how they will be displayed. Do you think your Suttons came from the Middle East? If not, find a male Sutton relative and get him to take the test. Thank you very much! Les Sutton

    3. Cindy, The Suttons that I know are related to me are in Wayne County in 1850 and 1860 Census. They are 1850: Silvannus age 31 born in Tennessee, his wife Melvina age 27 born in Missouri, their chldren are Margrit age 5, Euphana (female) age 3, Ammon (male) age 1 and James R. age 11 months. All the children were born in Missouri. In 1860 they are: Malvina age 37, Margaret, age 15, Euphamy age 13, Ammon D. age 11, James R. age 10, Sarah J. age 7 George W. age 5, Nancy J. age 3, and Manerva E. age 1. My great grandmother is Manerva E. She married Jesse Robinson. Her sister Nancy J. married Jesse's brother John W. Robinson. I guess either James R. or George W. would be old enough to father your Jake Sutton. I really don't have anything on them at this time, but I am constantly looking for information on the Sutton's. Please keep in touch with me. Maybe we can find out link. 3. I am a descendent of Daniel Sutton born 1811 and eventually of Coalbournebrook about a mile to the south of Wordsley. According to unconfirmed information that we have been able to find in the IGI and parish registers, Daniel had an older brother Charles, born in 1799 and christened in Old Swinford. We believe that these two brothers were sons of John Sutton and Sarah Perrins married about 1787. Other brothers and sisters include William 1788, John 1789, Joseph 1791, Benjamin 1791, Thomas 1794, Ann 1796, Henry 1802, Sarah 1804, and George 1806. I have a copy of Daniel's will where he makes mention of his brother Henry. Daniel eventually became the proprietor of the Coalbournebrook Fish Inn. Hope this information is of value to you. Eliza married my GGG grandfather John Husselbee on March 2,1851 in Old Swinford, Wor. I don't know anything more about Charles Sutton except that I believe that he also had a son Charles who was living in the Wordsley area in 1881. Eliza and John Husselbee had 5 children; one of which was a daughter; Sarah Ann who moved in with her Uncle (Charles Sutton Jr.) in 1881 because both her parents had died and she was unmarried. I am looking for any Sutton or Husselbee family connections. ==== SUTTON Mailing List ==== DO NOT ATTEMPT TO POST VIRUS WARNINGS ON THE SUTTON LIST If in doubt, send warnings to List Owner
