    1. [SXP] FamilySearch PROBLEM

    3. Greetings Listers My focus at the moment is on my Sussex ancestors and their families (quite extensive as I'm at least 1/4 Sussex by descent - a pair of Sussex-born great-grandparents arrived in the Antipodes in the 1800s) and, although I have access to the SFHG Database (member #8642) which is a great resource, I like to check FamilySearch for a succinct preliminary listing of possible family members. I find this a good guide as to which parish to check on the database. However, even when I checked for the surname SMITH for the whole of England for 300 years, I got the following message! No records found for Name: SMITH, Country: ENGLAND, Event: Birth, Place: ENGLAND, Event Range: 1500-1800 I get the same message for whatever name I choose, for whatever county - including Sussex - and for whatever time frame. I am registered with FamilySearch and put in the correct User Name and Password each time I've started a search. I've tried to find a contact email address amidst all the Help options, but can't find one to fit the situation. Most of the options are help to do a particular task, not in accessing the records in the first place. My computer was cleaned recently, so I'm wondering if something went wrong then. Can anyone suggest what may have happened, what I'm doing wrongly, or what I can do to sort out the problem. Many thanks Pam Beaudesert, Queensland, Australia
