    3. If you go to Streetmap at www.streetmap.co.uk and enter the TQ reference, it will take you there. It is a standard 6 figure Ordnance Survey reference. The inn of that name is long gone but, from googling Pitt´s Head I have seen references to Pitt´s Head crossroads, sadly not noted on any map I´ve found. Does anyone know the names of the roads at this crossroads so I can pin it down as I am assuming that the name of the crossroads is where the inn stood.     3. Thanks to everyone who replied to my query. I now know where the crossroads is and have also discovered that my ancestor, Edward Pitt, also owned Hasledean (sic) farm and farmhouse, which used to be adjacent. This was all prior to 1825 when he died.
