    3. Again thank you to those who have answered my queries. Recent finds have been of a list of the gravestones in St. Thomas a' Beckett Churchyard, Warblington. Two were mentioned for Palmers, one John 1745 and William who drowned when his ship sank of Dublin. The one for John Palmer 1745 is listed as having the singular example of a coat of arms on it. A relative visited this site recently and photographed the grave which was badly weathered but enough was showing to indicate what appeared to be the arms of the Palmers of Wingham and Parham. Our Palmers were in Warblington at that time so hopefully a connection might be found. Mention was made that in the 1980s listings were made of the gravestones and a copies were lodged with various organisations of which WSRO was one. I emailed them immediately and received back a reply (here in Australia) within 5 minutes to say that the history department was busy and I would receive an answer ASAP. The hope is that the gravestone in the 1980s was not as badly weathered as in more recent years. Lefayre Palmer.
