Greetings Listers In the SFHG Database and the SMI, I have found only 6 entries for the surname MERYLAD. In Rye in the late 1540s and early-mid 1550s, 4 children were baptised, 2 sons and 2 daughters of Robert MERYLAD. The 5th entry is Robert's burial in 1557. The six entry is the marriage of the youngest child, Agnes or Anys, to John ALMOND in 1575. Agnes and John are ancestors of mine. Does anyone know of any other instances of MERYLAD in Sussex? As the Rye PRs are availabe from 1538, it would seem that Robert married elsewhere before moving to Rye. Can anyone suggest what variants I should be looking for when the surname is MERYLAD in Rye?
