Anne, What information do you have and what resources have you used? I think it's important to know so that I don't duplicate what's already been done. The marriage of James Osborne and Caroline Wells is after 1837, so should be in Civil Registrations on FreeBMD. Judging on ages, both should still be with parents in 1841. 1851 census should give birthplaces of both James and Caroline and also both sets of parents. Presumably they are still living and aged around 50. Pre 1837 records should be on the Family Search site. Have you looked there? I'm not sure if there is a parish for Charlton. There is no mention in IGI batches on the Archer Software site. Somebody local may have a better idea. Peter
