    3. Hi, My 4x great grandfather ran an inn called the Pitt´s Head in the parish of Cuckfield. The inn of that name is long gone but, from googling Pitt´s Head I have seen references to Pitt´s Head crossroads, sadly not noted on any map I´ve found. Does anyone know the names of the roads at this crossroads so I can pin it down as I am assuming that the name of the crossroads is where the inn stood. Thanks, Diane

    3. Hi Diane, Pitt's Head Crossroads is the Warninglid junction of the A23 - currently undergoing huge roadworks. I have had a look on old-maps.co.uk but cannot find a pub near there but it might be worth looking around those maps. What time period are we looking at? hth, Anne > Date: Sat, 28 Sep 2013 12:27:28 +0200 > From: thewynnes@gmail.com > To: SUSSEX-PLUS@rootsweb.com > Subject: [SXP] Pitt´s Head crossroads Cuckfield > > Hi, > > My 4x great grandfather ran an inn called the Pitt´s Head in the parish of > Cuckfield. > > The inn of that name is long gone but, from googling Pitt´s Head I have > seen references to > Pitt´s Head crossroads, sadly not noted on any map I´ve found. > > Does anyone know the names of the roads at this crossroads so I can pin it > down as I am assuming that the name of the crossroads is where the inn > stood. > > Thanks, > Diane > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SUSSEX-PLUS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
