I am overwhelmed by the kindness of listers who have shown an interest in my search. Research into Manor Rolls was suggested. I have been concentrating on the information sent by the College of Arms and suddenly realised I had in my files work done by Debrett's over 30 years ago. On looking at this I find that the recommendation was to extend the search into the manorial records for Westbourne, Sussex. A list of the surviving records was given. So now it is a manner of saving up to have this done. With the arrival of the Kit for members of Sussex Family History Group it was wonderful to receive a version of the map of Sussex more readily readable than that on the website. From it I have been able to colour code the areas in which I am interested. Many are the next parish which would make it reasonable to assume that as the families expanded so they moved a few miles away. Thank you for this. I have also received the family tree of "King'' Palmer of India with whom a relationship has been a family story. The tree has at the top a coat of arms which is the same as that on the grave of our John Palmer in Parramatta, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.'' King'' Palmer has a slightly differenced one so it would be interesting to see if this was matriculated. Thank you listers for your friendship. Lefayre Palmer
