Hello Tony; I have a list of BAKERs born in Hailsham. The only James I have however, died shortly after he was born in 1872. The 1844 birthdate could make your James a son of Isaac BAKER, but I am quite sure I have all of his children's names. Your James could also have been the son of my Isaac BAKER'S brother (same as a cousin to Edwin Issac BAKER), but I have almost nothing on Isaac BAKER - that's where my solid brick wall is.
