Heather, I replied to your earlier query regarding this but in that communication you did not mention a year of death. If he died in Brighton after the 1850's, he is most probably buried in the extra-mural cemetery, now known as Woodvale, in the Lewes Road. If this is the case, there are no web sites, CD indexes or other freely available lists that give details of burials there. However, the council do hold the records of the burials in all the corporation cemeteries and if you contact them, they may be able to provide you with the information you require. They are generally very helpful, but there may be a cost involved with any searches you request. If you enquire at woodvale@brighton-hove.gov.uk , they can probably point you in the right direction.
