I am trying to trace my Gt Gt Grandmother, a widow named Jane Wasley who migrated to Australia in 1852 with her two daughters, Mary Ann and Jane. From the 1851 Census her birthplace is given as Hurstpierpoint, Sussex, circa 1798. She married a William Wasley circa 1819/20 and her first child John was born in Kea, Cornwall circa 1821. Family anecdote states that she was Jane Wasley of Hurford. Her daughters Mary Ann and Jane each named their sons Henry Hurford. Possibly the name Hurford was her maiden name.
