Hello All, I read wth interest the letters re Petworth House although I have no family ties to Wyndham. My home town is Brisbane, Australia. During the years 2000-2003 I had the pleasure of working along side a Mrs. Wyndham. During our conversations on family history, she said that her husband was descended from the Wyndhams of Petworth House. In 2001, I visited East Sussex but not Petworth House. But, in a small country church, the floor of which was earth, in a hidden hamlet called Little Sampford on road B1053 - approx.between Chelmsford and Cambridge, there is fixed to a wall, a plaque to the memory of a Priest who also is descended from the Wyndhams. The plaque is old, hard to read without being up close and the pictures I took barely were readable. I gave these to Anita. The reason for writing this message is to ask if those with a genuine interest in Wyndham would like to contact these Brisbane Wyndhams with a view to adding to the links. I cannot be sure what F/History knowledge they have if any. I am happy to sound them out. Doug in Australia.

His son William married Catherine Seymour whose mother was Elizabeth Percy b 1667 of Petworth and their daughter Elizabeth Wyndham b 1726 married George Grenville, 1st Lord of the Admiralty and Chancellor of the Exchequer. Their son George Nugent Grenville, 2nd Earl Temple, 1st Marquis of Buckingham married Mary Elizabeth Nugent and their son George Grenville, Baron Nugent, married Ann Lucy Poulett who was the granddaughter of my 4x Gt Grandfather, Joyner Becher and Vere, 3rd Earl Poulett phew! got there. Hope this is of interest to your friends.
