Jennie Go to the website below it lists the Triad Arthur was not on board when she went down 15 Oct 1940 http://www.naval-history.net/xDKCas1940-10OCT.htm Regards Jackie -----Original Message----- From: sussex-plus-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:sussex-plus-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of james.fam@xtra.co.nz Sent: 30 October 2007 21:57 To: SUSSEX-PLUS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SXP] HMS Triad HI I have come into possession of a photo of one Arthur FOLLINGTON. The date of the photo is unknown. He is wearing a royal navy sailors uniform, the tropical white version. His hat seems to bear the inscription HMS Triad. A net search shows that only one royal navy ship bore that name and she was a submarine commissioned in 1939 and sunk in 1940 by an Italian submarine the Enrico Toti. Before her engagement with this submarine Triad had been in Malta which would tie in with the fact that Arthur is wearing his "whites" if the photo was taken there and sent home to a loved one. Is there anywhere I can get a list of the crew members on the sub when she went down to confirm that Arthur was on it at that time? It was sunk with no survivors. Any help appreciated.
