Hello All, I am asking if SKS with phone will make a call for me. William ( Bill ) Mepham, a cousin to my father was 91 in 2001, totally blind but with a clear memory of events during his life time including playing with my father - they were great mates. In 2001, I met with him at Holy Cross Priory, Cross in Hand, Heathfield. Since then I have lost contact. He said he was hoping to move to a retirement home for ex servicemen at Brighton and was on the waiting list for accommodation. There has been talk on this site about a similar home at Eastbourne which is closer to Heathfield and it is possible he got in there. Bill had a younger brother, Leonard T Mepham who I believe lives at Brighton. Their friendship was strained but Leonard is the only kin likely to benefit from Bill's estate. I am asking if someone would look up the Brighton phone book, make contact with Leonard if possible and find out what he knows of Bill's whereabouts. He knows nothing of me and was too young to have met my father. To ease into a conversation with him, the caller would need to mention my Grandfather William George Eldridge of Brede who is a brother of Leonard's mother Rose Catherine Eldridge.. Failing that, a call to Brighton Servicemen's home to see if he made it to there. A long shot would be a call to Holy Cross Priory to see if they will pass on Bill's new address.
