However, my Elizabeth is Bessy (Elizabeth) Flora Burton, and I can not find any seperate birth for an Elizabeth Flora Burton in Sussex which is where the censuses say that she says she was born, Eastbourne specifically. No baptisms of Burtons at either Eastbourne or Easebourne.<<<< Checking on Freebmd, Elizabeth Friar BURTON was registered at Worthing in the Apr-Jun Q 1849, it might be worthwhile having the local Worthing Registry Office confirm the names in their Register with that transcribed by the GRO. The Volume and Page No. will not be of any use to the local office only her date of birth. As for her baptism, it may have been in the mother's former parish not where the family were living at the time. Baptisms are often recorded outside the birth parish or village.
