Many thanks to all you people who responded to my request it seems it was East Angmering Many thanks John --------------------------------- Sick of deleting your inbox? Yahoo!7 Mail has free unlimited storage. Get it now.
Whilst the place mentioned in your 1524 doc is probably East Angmering, you will need to be careful in identifying exactly where it is. The present day Ordnance Survey map has the village of Angmering just inland from East Preston, but to the best of my knowledge there is no such place today as "East Angmering". My Ordnance Survey map of the area doesn't show any location name called East Angmering in the vicinity of Angmering and East Preston, so is there an East Angmering somewhere else? From my knowledge of Sussex I rather doubt it. But we must also remember that West Grinstead, for example, is quite a long way south-west of the town of East Grinstead.
