Martin, You don't say quite what you need, so hard for me to be specific. In that case I suggest you get his place of birth 1851 and try and locate him in the 1841. You dont say that you found him or not in the 1841. He may be with parents or relatives. Back track and collect the family which sometimes helps to tie things together. Sisters and brothers, parents may be living with them in their dotage and you may gain more info. Also if place of birth tallies throughout - get the Parish registers out for the area in Surrey you require. . Have you done searches of the IGI.....? Parent searches? There are a lot of avenues to gain more information. www.historicaldirectories.org - directories online. I usually go to the Parish records once I have established the family by other various means census/igi. If you are just posting your names in the hope of a contact. I suggest you head your query as such. Posting to the eng-Surrey list might be of value. Also websites such as www.rootschat.com, genesreunited etc may glean information and contacts.
