I have recently obtained a baptism record for my gt gt grandfather Date of Baptism(d/m/y) 12/04/1818 Name John Ebenezer ADAMS son or dau. s Date born 22/01/1818 Father's Name John ADAMS Mother's Name Ann ADAMS Occupation - Abode Framlingfield Parish Jireh Jireh Notes - The Abode I believe to be Framfield, but I found the Jireh reference interesting. John E.'s father (John ADAMS) is buried at the old Dicker Chapel, now called Golden Cross Chapel, and therefore I believe there to be a strong independent streak through the family. Particularly as John's other children included a Jabez, and Isaac, and a Caleb. Indeed Isaac's children included a Calvin and a Caleb Luther. It would appear that my ADAMS might have been Calvinists, as there seems to be a strong link with Jireh Chapels and Calvinism. I checked around and the nearest Jireh Chapel to Framfield appears to be one in Lewes. I have for many years tried to find the burial place or record for John Ebenezer (who died 27/01/1867), and hoped that the Jireh clue might help. Any advice gladly welcomed. Regards, Richard.
