    3. Here at home - Canada. I have done many searches re marriages etc The Marriage index - will show - the marriage registration listed twice - same registration number . with the each showing one of the surnames. When we marry [at least years ago] we took our husbands surname as ours - thus after being widowed or divorced - that was our legal surname . The one under which we would be married.
