Hi Deborah Nazareth House was a Roman Catholic Convent & Orphanage and more recently, a school. The buildings still exist but have been converted into flats and called St James' Place. If you do a Google search you will find more information. There is a photo on www.geograph.org..uk/photo/122335 The Roman Catholic Diocese is Arundel & Brighton. There is no reference to archives I could find on their website www.dabnet.org You could try the East Sussex record office http://www.eastsussex.gov.uk/leisureandtourism/localandfamilyhistory/esro/default.htm Best wishes David in Bexhill, East Sussex, UK ----------------------------------------- Deborah wrote :-> I just wondered if anyone knew of Nazareth House in Bexhill?> I just found out that this may be the orphanage that my Granny was in in the years between 1910 - 1920.> Either that or Malmsbury House.> She would never speak of her experience there and destroyed any records of her life before coming to Canada at age 16.> Would there be any records still around that would show if she was in their care within those years?------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _________________________________________________________________ Fancy some celeb spotting? https://www.celebmashup.com
