    3. Greetings all.Does anyone have access to BMDs apart from Ancestry and possibly Free BMD?I found a death registered Worthing1965,which leads me to believe the birth was 2nd qtr 1921.This qtr.is missing from Ancestry! Could somebody look up Eric R Cooper (mothers maiden name is Marshall) in this qtr.and find ref.numbers for me? Many thanks Derek Cooper

    3. Derek and others on this list, I have quite frequently found "missing" quarters on the BMD images on Ancestry and have found most of these are the result of a handwritten late entry on the bottom of the last column of entries which in turn tends to throw the character recognition software out of sequence, or the handwriting may have been miss-interpreted by human eyes. The usual way round this is to enter a surname either just before or after the one that's missing and the quarter which is missing. Then by using the next or previous buttons it is possible in most cases to find the page image which was earlier missing. A bit time consuming but it has worked for me. FreeBMD has a way to go before all births etc are indexed to the end of 1921 (you can check on their progress). hope this helps cheers Bob in Aus. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Derek Cooper" <diesel13@tiscali.co.uk> To: "Sussex Plus" <SUSSEX-PLUS@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, December 09, 2007 7:46 PM Subject: [SXP] MISSING BMDs Greetings all.Does anyone have access to BMDs apart from Ancestry and possibly Free BMD?I found a death registered Worthing1965,which leads me to believe the birth was 2nd qtr 1921.This qtr.is missing from Ancestry!
