Heather & Pam The lunatic asylum at Kingston Road, Teddington, was called Normansfield Asylum , later Hospital, and has recently been redeveloped into luxury apartments and houses. I don't think it would have ever been described as Kingston. There was an area of what is now Portsmouth called Kingston, which seems much more likely. Hi John I worked out that Portsmouth would be a lot closer and probably where Heather needed to research, but couldn't find any reference to Kingston in Hamps. Takes a local to know rather than an ex-pat Kentish gal in Oz. Grin ! I am sure Heather now knows which direction to head at the very least. Happy New year to all and happy hunting Heather.
