Hi List I am reposting a previous enquiry in the hope that someone may be researching PEACOCK in Sussex. My 4x gr grandfather Charles PEACOCK was married to Martha HENTY by Licence on 9th June 1797 in Shermanbury Church. The record states that Charles was "of the Parish of Cowfold". On Charles' death certificate, he died at Troy Town, Edenbridge on 24 October 1848, making his birth year 1775. I am assuming then that Charles may have been born and maybe christened in St Peters, Cowfold. I have been unable to find Charles' birthplace or his parents and siblings. There was another Charles PEACOCK born in Thakeham in 1777 with parents Charles PEACOCK and Jane BOUND. This Thakeham Charles was buried in Thakeham in 1833, whereas my Charles lived in Edenbridge and died there in 1848. I would appreciate any help. Thankyou. Jan New Zealand
