    3. Hi Pam, >From what I can make out on the 1851 page Alfred is not there but a 3 year old grandson Alfred(??) W Peat(?). Lucy is marked as married but that may have been an assumption or a simple mistake by whoever filled in the census data. I have several ancestors who have been described as married when I know they were widowed. This perhaps raises more questions. Where was Alfred snr? I too could not find another Alfred Robins (all variations) on 1841 census so assume that the death you have found was of this Alfred. The only way you could be sure would be to send for the cert - although I am not sure what appears on the earlier death certs. Why was the grandson Peat? Perhaps he was born out of wedlock and Alfred and Lucy married later. This would mean that she was Lucy Peat. However the grandson was born in Pimlico, Mddx - some way from Chichester. don't know how much this helps! cheers, Anne > From: cliveden@acenet.net.au> To: sfhg@rootsweb.com; SUSSEX-PLUS-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Wed, 7 Nov 2007 08:32:11 +1000> Subject: [SXP] The Mystery of Alfred ROBINS> > Hello Listers> > I have details of Alfred ROBINS, s/o Charles ROBINS and Mary née> WARES, as follows:> > In the 1841 Census, he listed with his parents as 'of 7 West> Street, Chichester, aged 20'.> > In the 1851 Census, there is an Alfred ROBINS listed, with wife> Lucy, living with his parents at West Street, Chichester, aged 34.
