Hi There Is there anyone on the list who is a registered user for one of the sites that has current UK Electoral Rolls. Thanks Michael New Zealand
Dear Lists Please could I ask a favour of anyone who has time to look at the Marriage Register re Brighton St Nicholas - for the above? As you can see I have the date but I would be grateful for any other information that might be contained in the register. The exact date was March 27th 1832. I am hoping there might be details of witnesses and father's of the bride and groom etc. I am unsure how much was in the registers at this time but I think witnesses would be recorded and status ie batchelor/spinster etc., but I think it might be too early for the details of parents to be recorded, or occupations. I don't have much on Harriet (or Harriott) LAWS regarding her background or parents but later census records consistently state she was born either in Brighton, or Northamptonshire and I am hoping it might be Brighton and this is possibly supported by her daughter, another Harriet, going to Brighton by 1860. The couple were in Dorking by later in 1832 and I am pretty sure Harriet was already expecting their first child as he was baptised in September 1832. Henry was from Dorking. Any help or suggestions will be gratefully received. Helen Shipley Helen
