    1. [SXP] Odd IGI batch number

    3. Perhaps someone can help with this. Batch #I036273 appears to be PRs from Henfield but has no indication as to source material. How can I determine where these records came from? Thanks, Jack

    3. Hi Jack Ok I have had a look at these .......via the source number. The IGI is a wonderful resource, BUT is made up of films that are 1. Transcriptions from the PR's etc - original transcriptions by the LDS 2. LDS member donations as a part of their religion per ce Lds memebers are required as a part of their religion to trace their family history and this one that you mention...................."seems" to be a family history (temple ready). Like most family historians there are good ones and bad ones......so take these as you find them as with anything that is done by others. No offence meant here........ By checking the source notes (title details), you can see that they are donated by members of the church. A source number should mention the PR is transcribed. If I cannot contact the providor of the information I tend to re-check the information given, purely because you can literally "bark up the wrong tree" and people are human and do make mistakes. MY advice.......... Use the IGI as a (great) guideline BUT get the PR's out yourself, cross referencing with what you KNOW and census data, certs etc when applicable. 3. Hi Pam, Jack and all I have found a few odd "I" batches and have found them to be fairly new data extracted from PRs My particular "I" batch appeared a couple of years ago for 1807 of St Marys Lambeth, I asked the LDS where it had come from and was told it was a late extracted batch from the Parish Registers that had not been extracted before I proved this by obtaining a copy of the page where my g.g.g.grandparents marriage was found Jack, perhaps you might ask the LDS as its their data on there, I have always found them very helpful Best wishes Nivard Ovington, in Cornwall (UK) > Hi Jack > Ok I have had a look at these .......via the source number. > The IGI is a wonderful resource, BUT is made up of films that are > 1.
