Hi Listers, I too have used Paypal for purchasing (mainly from the US) for over two years and I have found them to be very good. If you are registered with them you don't have to put in your credit card number etc every time. You just sign in under your user name and password (that you have set up) and all is there. It even converts your dollar/pound etc to your own currency so you know how much it is going to cost you. You get a confirmation email to print to confirm the cost to your credit card. Just a little bit of advice - I have set up a credit card in my name That is not "linked" to any of our other transaction cards at all. It stands alone and I only use that on the net. Call me old fashioned But I am happy with that and so is my cautious husband who watches all These horror stories that you see on the telly and in the paper. LOL I am very happy with their service. I've had no problem with it and no-one I know has had problems. However, like general banking, there are a few people who do encounter problems and these problems get heavily publicised making out that the bank, Paypal etc. is untrustworthy. It's a tiny percentage and, like all things in life, nothing is 100% safe.
