    3. Hello Kathy A note regarding Ardingly (pronounced 'Arding-lye' not 'Arding-lee' if you didn't already know), West Hoathly and East Grinstead. EG is at the end of the line from London (Victoria station), so easily accessible from London but not from the south. Ardingly only has a bus connection - route 82 which runs between Crawley and Haywards Heath, both with main rail connections from London and the south. West Hoathly also relies on a bus connection, this time the 84 which runs between Crawley and East Grinstead. For the bus timetables search for 'metrobus' and the name of the town/village. I frequented that part of Sussex for a few years (a friend owned a pub in Danehill not far away). It's a lovely area and great for country walks. Have a good trip John -----Original Message----- Subject: [SXP] Trip to London in April Hello everyone, I'm planning a research trip to London in April with four other people. I was wondering if some kind soul could help me with me travel plans. While in London I would like to visit the East Sussex Record Office, Lewes. How would I get to Lewes from London - what Tube station to get what train? Is the ESRO close to the train station? Also, the West Sussex Record Office in Chichester - is this possible from London? Also, I would like to visit my ancestors' villages/towns of Ardingly, West Hoathly, East Grinstead and surrounding areas - are there trains to these places? East Grinstead probably as it is larger but I'm not sure of Ardingly. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Kathy Baker, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
