I wonder if there is someone who lives in Milland who could give me some information on an address in Milland Lane. I have an ancestor who lived at Garden House which from the 1861 census appears to be in Milland Lane. My ancestor Stephen NEWELL was a Grocer and Baker, where would his premises have been in Milland. He was married to Mary BOXALL who's father Thomas was quite an affluent member of the community. Hi Bob, I don't live in the area but have had a look on www.old-maps.co.uk and www.historicaldirectories.org - unfortunately without much success. This is interesting http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=41691. >From looking at the preceding and subsequent pages of the census Garden House would appear to be somewhere between the crossroads and Maysleith to the north west, possibly before the flour mill.
