Dear Ted, My connection with MOCKFORDs is that I talk to a few from time to time in the graveyard of St. Andrew's Church, Bishopstone. Firstly, Thomas and Elizabeth MOCKFORD who were buried, aged 67 and 66, in 1875 and 1876 respectively. Secondly: Avis, eldest daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth on 30th January 1866, aged 36. Matilda, youngest daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth on 25th January 1865, aged 26. Edith, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (and wife of George PUTLAND) on 2nd March 1866, aged 31. The winters of 1865 and 1866 must have been harsh or plague ridden. Plus, Edith and George, children of Edith and George, in 1861 and 1865, 11 months and 2 months respectively. Also, Joseph and Eliza MOCKFORD who were buried, aged 84 and 93, in 1926 and 1940 respectively. There are also a number of tombstones for the NOAKES family. Edward NOAKES married a Sarah MOCKFORD in 1825. Ted, contact me off list since I may be able to provide contact with others who have MOCKFORDs in their family trees. Regards, Roger BACON (from Norfolk originally. been in Sussex just over five years)
