    3. I am trying to find a record of the marriage of Stephen Bentley to his second wife Mary Ann Stone. Stephen's first wife died in Nov 1834 and Mary Ann's first child was baptised in May 1836. Stephen lived in Poling and Mary Ann was born in Arundel although it is likely that her family had moved to Poling by the time of the marriage. I have not found it in the Poling or Arundel parish registers. Has anyone any thoughts as to where I could look next? Ron

    3. Hi Ron My Arundel lot.....Seagraves + Parkers were in Arundel for 200 years. Well the Parkers were and the Seagraves travelled around ALOT. Starting in East Dean and other places, Bury, Fittleworth, Chichester, Portsea and on it goes. BUT My James Seagrave's 2nd marriage was in Angmering. They have an online site - searchable and a wonderfully helpful man that runs it. There's Bentley's on there including a Stephen BUT in 1910. Parts of Angmering are on the Arundel road I think.....so it's a starting point. http://www.angmeringvillage.co.uk/ ALSO Doing a parent search of the IGI has some Bentleys born Poling. But I suppose you have them. IGI has a marriage in Portsea Hants. Quite a lot of my Sussex lot ventured to Portsea and Portsmouth etc......not a big stretch. Supposing that one of them worked there, then the marriage would occur there. There's an online site with PR's for the area called Knightroots, have not got the addy to hand. Not much help but a few ideas. Cheers Pam from Adelaide Australia >I am trying to find a record of the marriage of Stephen Bentley to his > second wife Mary Ann Stone.
