    3. Doug, where did the ship land it's passengers? The newspapers at the destination may have a report where groups of passengers headed after landing. There were government assisted passage or bounty schemes which may not necessarily be shown on the incoming passenger lists. Sometimes groups of young boys such as the Homeboys who went to Canada were in a group in the care of an adult from that organisation. I found such a listing for 2 homeboys heading for Canada in 1908, and this was on the lists found on Familyhistory on line. Hope this helps cheers Bob ----- Original Message ----- From: "D Eldridge" <dugbar38@bigpond.com> To: <SUSSEX-PLUS@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2008 8:44 AM Subject: [SXP] Immigration Records Hello Listers, My father was one of the young men who left England in 1923, bound for a new life in Australia. He was pennyless and had only the clothes he wore. He must have had assistance from one of the organisations such as Big Brother or Barnardos Society or another that organised his passage, someone to greet him on arrival and direct him to his new employer. I have been unable to locate any information as to where he got assistance. The ships passenger list does not indicate him as an assisted migrant so somewhere there is legal paperwork on his movements. I am open to suggestions as to where these documents might be found whether in England or Australia. Thanks in anticipation, Douglas Eldridge
