Dear Listers. While this may not be a Sussex or even a Surrey problem. I will take help from any where. I have an Ancestor called ISREAL RAYNER born circa 1770 any where in the U.K I am beginning to suspect he may be a Quaker He married an Elizabeth Carpenter 1796 Ealing St Marys 2 daughters Jemima b 1797/98 Bermondsey Sarah b 1800 St Luke Old St This little family came to Australia arriving in 1801 ISREAL was a shoemaker by trade and for the year he came to Australia he was usless to the new country for they needed farmers. He also came free Also he had petitioned to come here The ship he came on was called THE NILE. had 7 Settler families and the rest were convicts For the year and time he was born ISREAL could read and write. His writing was legible which to me says he had been educated Just before this family came out there was a WILLIAM RAYNER convicted in the old BAILEY and transported on the first fleet. His parents were Quakers Someone suggested to me that ISREAL came her at such an early time because some one may have already been here. Also Quakers educated their children Does any one know of a Forum for Quakers or where I can go for help. Just because this man was around London does not mean he was born there. On the I.G.I there is one ISREAL born way up north but that child died This is a big ask I know but I intend to keep trying. This man has been my thorn for 20 years HELP PLEASE Yvonne ----- No virus found in this message. Checked by AVG - www.avg.com Version: 2012.0.1869 / Virus Database: 2092/4597 - Release Date: 11/04/11
