Hello Listers, -is anyone in a position to confirm that Thomas Lewis born 10th of December 1775 in Willingdon, was the son of James lewis and Mary Henty. I believe this to be so but have not had sight of the primary sources. I would simply like this confirmed if possible. My many thanks Rob Grey
Hi Rob The entry is on new familysearch and as an extraction should be relatively sound It is more likely to be a *Baptism* rather than birth though It shows his parents as James & Mary LEWIS but rarely would a baptism record the mothers maiden name, perhaps if the child was illegitimate Thomas Lewis England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 residence: Willingdon, Sussex, England parents: James Lewis, Mary record title: England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 name: Thomas Lewis gender: Male baptism/christening date: 10 Dec 1775 baptism/christening place: WILLINGDON, SUSSEX, ENGLAND father's name: James Lewis mother's name: Mary indexing project (batch) number: C15200-1 system origin: England-EASy source film number: 1067362 I did not find an extracted marriage though There are two LDS patron entries for 4th March 1762 one states Eastbourne There are four other children to the same named parents 1.
