Hi Steve You don't say when and where your target George TUSSLER was born so it may not be relevant but in 1911 there is a G TUSLER, 27, a Carman born Horsham Sussex and wife Fanny, 27, born Graffam Sussex, married 6 years They have daughters Dora 6, Annie 5 and son George 2 Living at 36 Trafalgar Road Horsham Worth noting the 1911 is in the hand of the householder or whoever he got to do it for him, ie the spelling is TUSLER Next door at 38 is a Matthew TUSSLER 51 Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Hi, in trying to resolve/confirm who were the parents of George TUSSLER I > ordered his marriage certificate as listed in FreeBMD. > > "The response from GRO was: Marriage Certificate: George Tussler 1905 D 2a > 401 Croydon, there is no trace of the above mentioned person at the > reference you quoted. > > I checked the original document and it was ordered from GRO as referenced on > the original document stored by FreeBMD. > > Where do you go next if the reference can't be found by GRO? > > Alternatively does anybody have information related to the marriage of > George Tussler in 1905 possibly to Fanny SAUNDERS? > > Regards > > Steve in Sydney
Hi All, thanks for the usual quick responses to questions. I may have to accept that that I entered the wrong date in the GRO request for December instead of March even after ordering certificates many times before. I will take Mary's suggestion and this time ask for Fanny's marriage certificate instead. Unfortunately the spelling Tusler/Tussler changes within the same family and across different census years so it's always challenging as other branches have the same spelling problems adding to the complexity. My end result on this particular query is to confirm which George Tusler was KIA in 1916 in Flanders, my grand Uncle b1885 or my 1st cousin 2x removed b1885. Separate question but can you order WW1 death certificates? Hi again I suspected your aim might be to find the one who passed away in 1916 UK, Soldiers Died in the Great War, 1914-1919 about George Tusler Name: George Tusler Birth Place: Horsham, Sussex Death Date: 15 Sep 1916 Death Location: France & Flanders Enlistment Location: Horsham Rank: L/Corporal Regiment: Grenadier Guards Battalion: 2nd Battalion Number: 22248 Type of Casualty: Killed in action Theatre of War: Western European Theatre Yes you can order a death cert in the normal way but you may not learn anything new, most will have died of wounds or similar and place of death as France & Flanders or similar As he was with the Guards whose service records are held separately I would suggest making contact with them and see if they can help Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Hi All, thanks for the usual quick responses to questions.
