Hi, I don't think your Jeremiah born abt 1760 is the son of Jeremiah and Mary. There were 2 children from this marriage chr at Felpham Jeremiah 24/3/1738 and a male child 24/5/1740. Ann Northeast chr Appledram 20/3/1742 and buried 15/6/1743 Daughter of Jeremiah and Mary. Buried at Appledram "The wife Northeast" November 1750 wife of Jeremiah. A Jeremiah Northeast bachelor from Appledram married a Jane Smith at Pagham in 1745. Hi Heather, Many thanks for your reply. I too am beginning to think the same. My Jeremiah married Sarah Gardener in Eastergate in 1797 and died in Eastergate in 1840. They had 6 children as far as I know, one being George Northeast who married Harriot Clark in 1824 in Felpham. I am wondering if Jeremiah born 1738 to Jeremiah and Mary is actually the father of my Jeremiah and not the brother as I have supposed. It sounds more logical. However I wonder if Jeremiah who married Mary could have also married Jane Smith after Mary died if I can find her death. Many thanks again. I am actually trying now to trace the descendants of my Grandfathers brothers. My Gt Grandfather was Edmund/Edmond Northeast born in Eastergate in 1829. Married to Jane Burningham in 1858 and they had 11 children of whom 8 were male. I never knew any of them but there must be families out there somewhere. I have just learnt through my new found cousin, of a Kent Cricketer named Sam Northeast and we are wondering about his ancestry. Fascinating to have an unusual surname like ours. Its difficult to research becasue it usually comes up with points of the compass when searching on the internet. sincerely Eileen(nee Northeast) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Heather Brooks" <[email protected]> To: "eileen/pat" <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, July 23, 2011 7:25 AM Subject: Re: [SXP] NORTHEAST > Hi, I don't think your Jeremiah born abt 1760 is the son of Jeremiah and > Mary. > There were 2 children from this marriage chr at Felpham Jeremiah 24/3/1738 > and a male child 24/5/1740. > Ann Northeast chr Appledram 20/3/1742 and buried 15/6/1743 Daughter of > Jeremiah and Mary. > Buried at Appledram "The wife Northeast" November 1750 wife of Jeremiah. > > A Jeremiah Northeast bachelor from Appledram married a Jane Smith at > Pagham in 1745. > Regards Heather Brooks > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "eileen/pat" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Thursday, July 21, 2011 11:56 AM > Subject: [SXP] NORTHEAST > > >> My Fathers Sussex Ancestors I have traced back to Jeremiah NORTHEAST who >> married Mary Farnfell in Chichester in 1737 at All Saints. and died in >> 1763.
