Hello The 1901 census shows my grandparents living at Homeland, Whitley Road, Eastbourne. Is there anyone who knows Eastbourne who could let me know if there are now houses on this street that would have been there in 1901. Hopefully Brenda

Hi Brenda You can take a look yourself you know :-) If you go to googlemaps and enter the address Whitley Road Eastbourne it will bring up a map of the location You will see a little yellow man on the +/- bar of the left of the map, use the mouse and drag him onto the map where the red balloon is which shows where the road is As you drag him you will see blue outlines to roads that you can use streetview on Drag him onto the spot and release, it will take you to a street view of the road and you can use the arrows to take a virtual wander up and down the road There has certainly been some redevelopment at one end but many older houses still exist, the ones I have seen appear to be late Victorian or Edwardian so may be the 1901 houses you are interested in Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) PS one word of caution in all the above, do check if the Whitley Road was renamed at any point in history or is in the same place as was in 1901 > Hello > > The 1901 census shows my grandparents living at Homeland, Whitley Road, > Eastbourne.
