    1. Re: [SXP] SANDERS in E. Grinstead/Felbridge 1600's - 1850's

    3. Hello, listers Time for my annual inquiry re: descendants and/or ancestors of the SA(U)DERS family who lived in the area of East Grinstead/Felbridge area. My g.g. grandfather CAREW SANDERS was born in E/G in 1804 and was a shoemaker there. He married SUSANNAH CHART SANDERS from Lingfield around 1822. They had 13 children and the majority of the family went to America in early 1850's. His old shop is now the World of Fishes in Felbridge. An uncle, also Carew, occupied the Gulledge in the 1830's - 40s, with prior SANDERS occupying same perhaps as early as 1680's. I can trace my line of SANDERS back to mid-1600's maybe earlier in the area. SANDERS family members also associated with Hedgcourt Mill and Star Inn. Would appreciate any contact with others working this family line or any links between my SANDERS and BYSSHE/SHELLEY connexions. Cheers, Jack (John E.) Sanders, El Dorado, Kansas.
