Hi, Go to www.theweald.org On right side list of names click "Cat" The see at top, births before before 1700, Find several Nicholas's. The father born/christened there 1579 in Rotherfield is verified as being in the church records.Clicking on his name you will come up with some "trees". However, his son whom you are seeking has a different birth date and this comes from an individual's records, so this may be the same information that you found on family search. The 1579 Nicholas' marriage date would fit the son's birth but that info is again from the same person's records. another thinthigg is that siblings were born in different places, it might do well to see if all of these are in the same vicinity; could happen if Nicholas had such work as suggesting this. I would also suggest you check http://www.mandywillard.co.uk/surnames/catt/family.htm Mandy has some interesting speculation that might help. Also google "Nicholas Catt b 1615" and all kinds of info comes up; probably probablynothingnothing more that what you have but who knows? But actually the BEST is to go to a Family History Center or if none near you send out a request. The library in Utah has microfilm that can be rented by order of the Westfield parish records from 1540.
