Edith May FARRANT was the daur of Francis Westhall FARRANT and Edith Watson PIKE. She was born towards the end of 1893 in Malvern, Worcs, possibly on 17 Sep 1893, her father having died of Typhoid fever in Worthing shortly before her birth. She married Donald Brackenbury ROSS, an officer serving in the Indian Army, on 07 Feb 1917 at Thanet, St. John, Kent. The only likely death registration that I can find for her is in Dec Qtr 1970 ref Sturminster 7c 369. Donald Brackenbury ROSS was a career soldier and rose through the ranks to become Colonel of the 8th Bareilly Infantry Brigade, Indian Army. He was born on 22 Aug 1882 in Cape Town, South Africa and retired from the Indian Army circa 1935. He was awarded the Croix de Chevalier in 1918, the military OBE in 1924 and the Order of the Star of India (CSI) in 1935. He may have died in circa 1962 in the Hastings area of Sussex. The couple had only one known child, Donald ROSS born in 1918 in or near Upton-on-Severn, Worcs who may have died in Feb 1992 in Canterbury Registration District. If anyone has encountered this family in their researches, would they get in touch with me, please? Best wishes, Marion Woolgar Bognor Regis, West Sussex
