    3. Hi Phil, Perhaps posting the names of interest - may be helpful - some may across the name/s while researching * or attempt to help you with your search. Have you found the connected family;s When you search. Is there an area - that might say - residence / at sea /? There may be a separate research area for persons at sea - as well perhaps prisons - workhouses etc. May be worth checking, cheers, Stella At 06:29 AM 27/03/2011, Phil White wrote: >Hi Folks, Can anyone give me some advise as to how I find a mariner in a >Census. >I have two in my tree and always bypassed them as I never seemed to be >successful in the least > Phil White > >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to >[email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without >the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Hi Phil A lot will depend upon the time period but as you don't say when you are trying to find your mariner its hard to advise more Be aware that not all mariners or seamen were enumerated so you may not find him but if you give more detail perhaps we can advise better Although a little dated now the following gives some information on the subject http://www.mariners-l.co.uk/UKCensuses.html Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Hi Folks, Can anyone give me some advise as to how I find a mariner in a > Census. > I have two in my tree and always bypassed them as I never seemed to be > successful in the least > Phil White
