    1. [SXP] New Sussex CDs
    2. Joe Bysh
    3. Michael Burchall is about to issue two more CDs of Sussex material he has extracted and transcribed with Introductions to its history and meaning. "Sussex Poor 2 : 1801 - 1850" continues his earlier CD which included Quarter Sessions records 1661-1800 from all nine Sussex venues which took him over thirty years to compile. His latest CD is a fitting complement to the PBN Publications CD concentrating on criminals and victims 1810-1854 published initially on fiche a decade ago. Burchall's other new CD is "Sussex Convicts Transported to Australia 1789-1867" which is extracted from the National Archives original records (HO11) and many subsequent secondary sources. It gives the history of transportation back to 1248. It similarly complements Roger Davey's booklet "East Sussex Sentences of Transportation at Quarter Sessions 1790-1854" which lists the Sentences whether they were carried out or not. More details are on the SFHG website www.sfhg.org.uk/pubs-12.html . Both these CDs (and Burchall's eight other Sussex CDs) will be on the SFHG Stand at Hampshire Genealogical Society Open Day & AGM at Horndean College next Sunday 25 September 2011. Parish Register Transcription Society who produce Burchall's CDs will also be there with their other CDs of Sussex Parish Registers (over 127), Poll Books, Trade Directories, etc. Joe Bysh SFHG #5525, Publications Secretary.
