Francis Westall FARRANT was born on 27 April 1866 and baptised on 17 July 1866 at Llandudno, Caernarvonshire and he was the son of Robert & Mariana FARRANT. Francis and his two brothers, Henry and Percy were educated at Repton School and then on to Oxford where Francis initially studied at Trinity College whist his two brothers were in New College. Francis married Edith Watson PIKE in the autumn of 1892 and shortly after that they moved to Worthing where they lived at Belmont in Tennyson Road and started a school. On 10th July 1893, Francis died in Worthing of typhoid fever. His daughter, Edith May FARRANT, was born in Malvern, Worcestershire in the autumn of 1893.
