    1. [SXP] Marriages for PARSONS and WHITE
    2. Ted White
    3. Hello all, I wonder if anyone can help to find two marriages for me please. The first is my 3xgt grandparents. The only details that I know is that the groom¹s name was PARSONS and the bride was Maria. She was born about 1789 in Eastbourne or Westham and died in 1863 in Brighton. Her daughter, also Maria, married Thomas MOCKFORD, probably in Newhaven in 1843. The second is John WHITE who was born in 1813 in Lyminster, West Sussex. By 1841 he was married to Mary Ann ??? and they were living in Portsea, Hants. She gave her birthplace as Preston, Sussex in the censuses (possibly East Preston). I would be interested to contact anyone connected to either of these families. Thank you and best wishes, Ted White.

    3. For anyone trying to sort out the significance of the various IGI batch numbers, I have found the following website useful: http://www.ancestrysolutions.com/Batch%20Number%20Table.html There are other websites out there, I just happen to like this one. I haven't checked out Jack's number because I think Pam has got there already and explained things well. All the best Chris

    3. Hi, the page for this year was unreadable in places so I looked at the printed book for Cowfold from 1768. No Peacock baptisms until April 14th 1799 for a William Peacock son of Charles and Martha. 1. [SXP] UK Banking info please
    2. Hi Listers, I too have used Paypal for purchasing (mainly from the US) for over two years and I have found them to be very good. If you are registered with them you don't have to put in your credit card number etc every time. You just sign in under your user name and password (that you have set up) and all is there. It even converts your dollar/pound etc to your own currency so you know how much it is going to cost you. You get a confirmation email to print to confirm the cost to your credit card. Just a little bit of advice - I have set up a credit card in my name That is not "linked" to any of our other transaction cards at all. It stands alone and I only use that on the net. Call me old fashioned But I am happy with that and so is my cautious husband who watches all These horror stories that you see on the telly and in the paper. LOL I am very happy with their service. 3. Hi List I am reposting a previous enquiry in the hope that someone may be researching PEACOCK in Sussex. My 4x gr grandfather Charles PEACOCK was married to Martha HENTY by Licence on 9th June 1797 in Shermanbury Church. The record states that Charles was "of the Parish of Cowfold". On Charles' death certificate, he died at Troy Town, Edenbridge on 24 October 1848, making his birth year 1775. I am assuming then that Charles may have been born and maybe christened in St Peters, Cowfold. I have been unable to find Charles' birthplace or his parents and siblings. There was another Charles PEACOCK born in Thakeham in 1777 with parents Charles PEACOCK and Jane BOUND. This Thakeham Charles was buried in Thakeham in 1833, whereas my Charles lived in Edenbridge and died there in 1848. I would appreciate any help. Thankyou. Jan New Zealand

IMHO that is a very fair way to look at it - I wonder how many of us could quote the 'rules' chapter & verse, off the top of our heads. As one of the people who freely helped this person, spending a quite considerable time at the East Sussex archives gathering information regarding the Jenner family for him, I am disgusted that he should try to make the help given into a commercial enterprise.
