    3. CASTO / CASTRO; ESP>VA,USA; 1798- I have found some new information in my grandmothers things which does not "jive" with what I had previously understood. I'm wondering if anyone else has come across any "Spanish" CASTO/CASTRO/DeCASTROs. David CASTRO or De CASTRO (b. 1798 in Spain). Came to America and settled in Burning Springs, VA in 1820. Changed his name to CASTO and married Dolly MALONEY (full-blood Irish). Three children. John, Henry, and "unknown". Oldest son, John m. Doris MALLORY They had six (6) children: four (4) boys, two (2) girls The youngest boy, John Wesley CASTO, was born in 1860 at Polo, MO. At twenty- five years old (ca. 1885), John bought a string of eight (8) race horses and traveled all over racing them at fairs. In 1889, he met Julia KELLER in Nickerson, KS. She was of Holland Dutch descent. They married ca. 1890. They participated in the Land Run in Oklahoma Territory and settled near Covington, OK where my great-grandfather, George David CASTO was born ca. 1895. Thanks for your time, Melinda K.
